Ian Kolars is a mechanical engineer with diverse experience across various roles. Currently serving as a Staff Designer at Michaud Cooley Erickson since May 2019, Ian designed a ventilation system for the concourse expansion at Minneapolis Airport, involving the removal of existing units and installation of new ones. Simultaneously, Ian has held the position of Manufacturing Engineering Intern at Truck Bodies & Equipment International since June 2017, where responsibilities included designing tooling and equipment changes, analyzing takt time tables, improving work processes, and implementing Lean Six Sigma tools. Previous experience includes serving as a Math Tutor at TRIO-Student Support Services, an Undergraduate Research Assistant with the Minnesota Department of Transportation and Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a Civil Engineering Intern at the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
