Bin Tan is a Senior Research Associate at Michigan State University since February 2017, with prior experience as a Research Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Lowell from September 2012 to February 2017 and at South China University of Technology from September 2009 to June 2012. Bin Tan's research includes the synthesis of poly(3-hexylthiophene) colloids for transistor applications, development of biodegradable poly(butylene succinate) copolyesters, fabrication of PVDF films, and the design of natural fiber reinforced plastic composites. Bin Tan holds a Ph.D. in Plastics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Plastics and Polymer Engineering Technology from South China University of Technology.
