Fardad Chamran

Director Of Process Engineering at Microfabrica

Fardad Chamran has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Fardad started their career as a Project Engineer at Sazeh Consultants, where they designed pressure vessels for petrochemical plants. Later, they worked as a Project Engineer at Pentair, developing new injection molding products for pool and spa systems.

Fardad then pursued graduate studies at UCLA, where they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher in the MEMS group. Fardad gained expertise in microfabrication and silicon wafer processing while developing novel techniques for fabricating 3-dimensional lithium-ion and alkaline microbatteries.

After completing their studies, Fardad joined Innovative Micro Technology as a Process Development Engineer. Here, they implemented innovative integration techniques and fabricated multiple micro-devices, collaborating on accelerated development efforts that led to high volume production.

Fardad continued their career at ENOVIX Corp. as a Sr. Principal Process Engineer. Fardad was responsible for developing and integrating silicon anode architectures for a novel high energy density 3D lithium-ion battery. Fardad also optimized processes and enhanced yield for wafer-level processes.

Currently, Fardad is working at Microfabrica, where they have held multiple positions. Fardad started as a Principal Process Engineer and later became the Process Engineering Manager. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Process Engineering.

Overall, Fardad Chamran's work experience spans from project engineering in different industries to research and development in microfabrication and process engineering for advanced battery technologies.

Fardad Chamran obtained a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in MEMS from UCLA between the years 2000 and 2006. Prior to that, they completed their Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology from 1996 to 1998. Fardad also holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same university, which they obtained between 1992 and 1996.
