Toby King has extensive experience in various leadership roles within the technology and healthcare industries. Currently, they serve as the Chief Executive Officer at iFAST Diagnostics, where they are leading the development of a rapid antimicrobial susceptibility test that aims to revolutionize bacterial infection treatment. Prior to this, Toby worked as a Consultant COO and Chair of the Board at MicrofluidX, where they played a pivotal role in the development and commercialization of gene therapy manufacturing solutions.

In addition to their work in the private sector, Toby has also held significant positions in the public sector. Toby served as the Chair of Trustees at Winchester Science Centre & Planetarium and contributed to the advancement of science education and outreach.

Toby's expertise extends to academia as well, having worked as a Visiting Lecturer and Entrepreneur at the University of Southampton. In this role, they taught entrepreneurship, innovation, and business planning to students while also mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs. Additionally, they served as the Director of Enterprise at the Southampton Business School.

Furthermore, Toby has been involved in various engineering and medical device consultancy projects throughout their career. Toby collaborated with academic groups at Imperial College London to develop novel medical devices and assisted in securing grants and spinning out successful enterprises. Moreover, Toby held the role of Chairman at Libertine FPE, a leading developer of linear power systems, and served as CEO at Bowman Power, a company specializing in energy recovery systems for engines.

Earlier in their career, Toby was involved with Moog Insensys, where they served as CEO and later as COO. During their time there, the company became a key player in the wind turbine industry and was eventually acquired by Moog Inc.
