Jon Ernast

Jon Ernast has extensive work experience in the IT industry. Their most recent position was as a Special Teams Lead Engineering Manager for Microland Limited, where they were responsible for implementing enterprise network infrastructure and migration solutions in the government cloud.

Prior to that, they worked at Microsoft for almost a decade as an Operations Service Engineer Office365. In this role, they resolved network communications issues, handled cross-site replication and reliability of Exchange mailbox databases, and managed Active Directory and AD Group Policy.

Before joining Microsoft, Jon worked as a Support Analyst III and Consultant at Volt Technical Resources, where they monitored and troubleshooted Microsoft's internal Exchange Messaging, Collaboration, and RTC services. Jon also performed maintenance and upgrades for Exchange and Exchange-related services.

Earlier in their career, Jon worked as a Systems Administrator and Network Engineer at Las Vegas Skin & Cancer Clinic. Their responsibilities included managing projects and deployments, maintaining a Cisco VPN, and managing a terminal service environment using Citrix servers.

Jon's career began at E4E Inc., where they served as a Senior-Duty Network Engineer, providing support for SonicWall and handling complex firewall security and network routing issues. Jon also traveled to India to establish procedures and technical infrastructure for a call center and trained engineers on firewall and secure remote access.

Overall, Jon Ernast has a broad range of experience in IT infrastructure management, network engineering, and cloud migration.

Jon Ernast attended Whitman College from 1991 to 1995, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Environmental Studies, with a minor in Physics. Jon also has various additional certifications, including CJIS - Criminal Justice Information Services and Dept. of Defense DOD-IT2, obtained in May 2018, and certifications in CSSA - Certified SonicWALL Security Administrator, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer MCSE Windows 2000, CompTIA Project+ certified Project Management, and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer MCSE NT 4.0, obtained between 1998 and 2004.
