Laura Talko

Laura Talko is a Principal and Controller for the Oakbrook Terrace office of Mid-America Real Estate Group. In her role, Laura administers all benefits and human resources for all five Mid-America companies. She supervises the Director of Financial Controls and Office Manager.

With 20 years at Mid-America, Laura was originally hired as a Corporate Accountant responsible for preparing financial statements, budgets, payroll, and accounts receivable and payable for both Mid-America Real Estate Corporation and Mid-America Asset Management. Laura was then promoted to Controller with added responsibility of company benefits, human resources, and 401K plans, and further promoted to Principal in 2005.

Prior to Mid-America, Laura worked at Comdisco, Inc. as Accounts Receivable Manager for the company’s East Coast portfolio. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in Business Administration from Illinois State University and a Master of Accounting from Dominican University. She is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
