Kent Flanery, P.E. has extensive work experience in various industries and roles. Kent started their career in 1978 at American Electric Power, where they held multiple positions in project development, utility management, and engineering. In 2003, they founded KeLa Energy, LLC, a technology development company focusing on emerging coal technologies and emissions reduction. Kent also served as the General Manager/President at Western Appalachian Resources Company during the same period.

From 2009 to 2014, Flanery worked at First Solar, a solar energy company, where they held several managerial positions. Kent led the deployment of new advanced balance of system (BOS) technologies for solar PV generation and was involved in technical support, project development, and product improvement. Kent also played a significant role in the acquisition of Raytracker in 2010.

In 2013, Flanery started WARCo Engineering, LLC, their electrical systems and energy-related engineering and consulting firm, where they served as the Owner, Principal Engineer, President, and General Manager. Kent worked with clients from various sectors, including electrical and energy equipment manufacturers, oil and gas companies, engineering clients, and renewable energy clients.

Prior to their current role, Flanery worked as a Senior Project Manager at Middough Inc. from 2014. Kent led project teams for design, engineering, procurement, and construction projects in the chemical, petrochemical, energy, and metals industries.

Flanery also has a background in martial arts, specifically as a Shaolin Black Belt under the International Council of Blackbelt Shaolin Martial Artists.

Throughout their career, Flanery has been involved in technology development, project management, product innovation, and leadership roles across various sectors.

Kent Flanery, P.E. obtained their Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Kentucky from 1974 to 1978. Kent also earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technologies/Technicians during the same period from the same institution.

In terms of further education, Kent has pursued an MBA in Finance and Management from Morehead University. Additionally, they have completed an Advanced Executive Management program in Engineering/Industrial Management at The Ohio State University.

In terms of certifications, Kent holds the TWIC certification from the US Dept of Homeland Security, obtained in January 2015. Kent also obtained the TOC Jonah certification from Theory of Constraints in June 2012. Furthermore, they hold the OSHA-10 certification from OSHA, although the exact date of completion is not specified.
