Scott Ring has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Scott has held various managerial positions in transportation and food manufacturing companies.
Starting in 1996, Scott worked at McCain Foods where they gained experience in different roles such as Production Management Trainee, Shift Manager, and Health and Safety Officer. In these roles, they were responsible for overseeing production processes, ensuring employee safety, and meeting performance targets.
In 2012, Scott joined The Day & Ross Transportation Group as the National Occupational Health and Safety Manager. Scott managed a team of safety officers and implemented safety programs to reduce workplace accidents. Scott also served as the National Compliance Manager, ensuring drivers complied with policies and regulations.
Scott then joined Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association in 2019 as the Chairperson for the Safety Committee. In this role, they led discussions on industry best practices and shared them with carriers in Atlantic Canada.
From 2017 to 2023, Scott worked at Day & Ross as the Director of Risk Management. Scott oversaw risk assessment and developed strategies to minimize accidents and injuries.
Currently, Scott is working at Midland Transport as the Director Health, Safety & Environment. Scott is responsible for ensuring the safety of employees and drivers, investigating accidents, and implementing preventative measures.
In addition to their work experience, Scott has also served as a Board Member of the Nova Scotia Trucking Safety Association, coordinating health and safety programs for members.

Scott Ring obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick from 1993 to 1995. Prior to that, they completed a Certification in Business Administration from New Brunswick Community College - Moncton, from 1990 to 1992.
In 2008 to 2009, Scott pursued a Certification in Health, Safety, and Environmental Processes from the University of New Brunswick. Following this, they obtained a Certification in Mental Health First Aid from Mental Health Canada in 2015.
Continuing their education in the field of safety, Scott earned a Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation from the Board of CRSP from 2010 to 2011. During the same period, they also completed Fire Fighter Level 1, Level 2, and Fire Investigation for First Responders from NBCC (New Brunswick Community College) - Miramichi.
In 2011, Scott acquired a Certification as a Certified Personal Training Specialist from Can Fit Pro and also completed the Qualitative Fit Testing Training Program from 3M.
In 2013, they obtained a Certification in Train the Trainer - Dangerous Goods from Danatec Educational Services. In 2018, they added an Advanced Certificate in Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace from the University of Fredericton.
Scott also pursued certifications specific to their occupation, including a Certification in Drug and Alcohol Urine Sample Collection from East Coast Mobile Medical Inc. in 2018 and a Certification as an Audiology Technician from Hearing Conservation and Civic Audiology Ltd in 2009.
Most recently, from 2020 to 2022, they pursued a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) degree from the Insurance Institute of New Brunswick.
