Michael Kirkwood

Michael Kirkwood is an experienced Air Traffic Controller with over two decades of practical experience in controlling and separating various types of aircraft. Currently working at Midwest ATC since July 2022, Michael previously held a similar position at NAS Whiting Field from August 2019 to September 2022, where responsibilities included managing air traffic for two separate airports within the same class C airspace. Michael's extensive background in air traffic control includes 21 years of service in the US Navy, where complex flight operations were effectively managed using both visual and radar methods. Michael's foundational education was completed at Barton High School.
