Carolina Ortega Barrales has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Carolina is currently serving as the VP of Sustainability at Milestone Environmental Services since April 2022. Previously, they worked as the Sustainability Director at Nacero Inc. from December 2020 to April 2022.
Prior to that, Carolina worked at GEOSYNTEC CONSULTANTS LTD as a Principal in Sustainability. In this role, they assisted clients in developing corporate sustainability strategies for implementation worldwide. Their responsibilities also included climate change strategy, social and environmental risk management, stakeholder engagement planning, and sustainability reporting.
Carolina also held various positions at Noble Energy, including Sr. Manager of Climate Change and External Reporting, Senior Manager of ESHR Services, and other areas of responsibility. At Noble Energy, they managed social performance programs, led projects on climate change, and guided social performance initiatives in multiple countries.
Carolina began their career at Oxy as a Specialist in Corporate Social Responsibility, where they implemented social responsibility projects and conducted assessments in various business units. Carolina also worked at Marathon Oil Company as a CSR Reporting Coordinator and at Kraft Foods as a Social Responsibility Manager.
Additionally, they gained valuable experience through internships at The Coca-Cola Company and Davos - World Economic Forum in the fields of corporate citizenship and sustainability.

Carolina Ortega Barrales has a Master's degree in International Affairs from Columbia | SIPA. Carolina completed their undergraduate studies at Smith College, earning a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Art History.
