Aniek Ivens

Aniek Ivens, PhD, is a strategic researcher specializing in sustainable consumption and circular economy at Milieu Centraal since February 2019, where responsibilities include project leadership in circular economy, climate adaptation, and sustainability certifications. Additionally, Aniek has been the founder of Academic Improv since 2006, providing workshops and coaching for improved scientific communication. Extensive teaching experience includes guest lectures on ecology and evolution at various universities, including Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Fontys University, and previous postdoctoral research at Rockefeller University, focusing on mutualism in ecological interactions. Aniek holds a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Groningen, alongside multiple degrees in evolutionary biology and acting, with ongoing participation in a Young Executives Program aimed at enhancing management skills in the non-profit sector.
