Walter Swenson

Walter Swenson has extensive experience in leadership and law enforcement. Since April 2019, Walter Swenson has served as Director of the Georgia Purple Heart Veterans Foundation while simultaneously holding the position of State Commander for the Military Order of the Purple Heart of the U.S.A., Inc. since June 2017. Prior to these roles, Walter Swenson worked as a Homicide Detective at the Nassau County Police Department from March 1993 to January 2000. Walter Swenson is a retiree, having ended a career in law enforcement in January 2000 after serving nearly three decades. Walter Swenson holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in criminal justice from the New York Institute of Technology as well as from Nassau Community College.
