Melissa Roja Lawlor

Melissa Roja Lawlor has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Melissa is currently serving as the Director of Equity and Inclusion at Milton Academy since July 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Co-Director at the Network for Independent School Equity starting from 2018. Melissa also worked as the Director of Equity and Inclusion at Brewster Academy from 2010 to June 2021. Melissa has experience in media production as an Executive Producer/Director at Little Engine Media, LLC from 2009 to 2016. Additionally, they worked as an Online Producer at Care.com from July 2010 to August 2014. Before that, Melissa served as an Associate Producer at WGBH from 2006 to 2010, where they also worked on the production of Between the Lions. Melissa has also worked in various roles at Nama Productions, Frumkin Productions, and as a Post Production Assistant at WGBH on FRONTLINE. Melissa started their career as an English Teacher, Dorm Head, and Coach at Millbrook School from 2000 to 2005.

Melissa Roja Lawlor holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree from Boston College, which they obtained from 2021 to 2024. Melissa also earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in English from Middlebury College from 2001 to 2005. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English and Psychology from Amherst College between 1996 and 2000.
