Amos Morris

Amos Morris currently serves as the Zoo Executive Director at Milwaukee County Zoo since August 2021. Previously, Amos held the position of Deputy Director/Chief Operating Officer at Fresno Chaffee Zoo from July 2017 to July 2021. Prior experience includes roles as Zoo Director/Executive Director at Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden from January 2009 to July 2017, and Curator of Mammals at Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium from November 2001 to January 2009, where management of a diverse mammal collection and oversight of the International Conservation Center were key responsibilities. Additional roles include General Curator at Roger Williams Park Zoo, Associate Curator of Mammals at Detroit Zoological Society, Large Mammal Supervisor at Dallas Zoo, and Zookeeper at St. Louis Zoo. Amos holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from the University of Missouri-Columbia, studied at Hampton University, and has a robust history of leadership and animal management expertise in various zoological settings.
