Sophie Yufa has a diverse range of work experiences in graphic design. Sophie started their career as a Graphic Designer at Milwaukee Magazine in March 2023. Before that, they worked as a Freelance Graphic Designer, providing graphic design services on a retainer basis for post-hospitalization within the Medicare program. Sophie'sresponsibilities included creating posters, social media graphics, flyers, and powerpoint slides.

From June 2021 to February 2023, Sophie worked as a Junior Graphic Designer at WaterStreet Creative. In this role, they were responsible for meeting quick turnarounds, working within brand guidelines, and creating memorable content. Sophie primarily designed programmatic advertisements, social media graphics, and branding for events such as signage, brochures, and maps.

In 2021, Sophie also had experience as an Environmental Graphic Designer at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. Sophie collaborated on a large-scale project for the Photoverse Selfie Museum commissioned by the 3rd Street Market Hall in Downtown Milwaukee.

Prior to that, Sophie worked as a Graphic Designer at Forest Home Cemetery Milwaukee for a few months. Sophie collaborated with a colleague to create a map and guide for the cemetery and arboretum, including wayfinding elements and designing the physical guide.

Additionally, Sophie had freelance graphic design experience with General Mitchell International Airport - MKE in 2020, where they designed a new wayfinding map. Sophie communicated with the client to understand their needs and created a map that was fresh, readable, and easy to understand.

Lastly, in 2020, Sophie worked as a Graphic Designer at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design for a brief period.

Sophie Yufa attended the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design from 2017 to 2021, where they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Communication Design.
