Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Mimica Automation

Vladimir Chernykh's work experience begins in 2015 when they worked as a Data Science Engineer for the Scuderia Toro Rosso F1 Team. In this role, they developed tools and processes for analyzing race car telemetry and data, ultimately helping drivers improve their lap times.

From 2016 to 2017, Chernykh worked as a Research Scientist at the Institute for Problems of Information Transmission, where they conducted theoretical and practical research on speech recognition. Vladimir successfully defended their Master's thesis and published their findings, including a real-life working service for emotion recognition.

In 2017, Chernykh joined Yandex as an NLP Researcher on the "Alisa" personal voice assistant team. Vladimir'sresponsibilities included researching and developing the part responsible for arbitrary no-intent dialogues between users and "Alisa."

Later in 2017, Chernykh worked as a Deep Learning Researcher for Cobrain, a startup focused on developing medical services based on artificial intelligence. In this role, they were responsible for the full lifecycle of ML models, from problem statement to production deployment. Vladimir filed for and was granted a patent for their work at Cobrain.

From 2016 to 2020, Chernykh worked as a Data Science Consultant at the Church & Duncan Group Inc, where they participated in over 10 AI-related ventures. Vladimir'sduties included providing comprehensive machine learning expertise and implementing solutions for various projects, such as building real-world apps, consulting clients, and creating ML courses.

In 2018, Chernykh transitioned to Gigster, where they served as a Lead Computer Vision Engineer. Vladimir led a team of four ML engineers and collaborated with other teams to build a Computer Vision cloud service for Canon.

In 2020, Chernykh founded retouchee, a company that offers an AI-powered managed service for product image editing. Vladimir served as the Founder and CTO/CEO, focusing on making photo preparation simpler, quicker, and more cost-effective for e-commerce businesses.

Most recently, Chernykh has worked as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer and is currently the Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Mimica Automation, starting in 2022.

Vladimir Chernykh completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University) (MIPT) from 2012 to 2016. Vladimir then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the same institution from 2016 to 2018. In addition, they simultaneously pursued another Master of Science (MS) degree in Data Science and Machine Learning from Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology from 2016 to 2018. Prior to their university education, Vladimir obtained their High School Diploma from Lyceum "Physical-Technical High School" in 2012.

Vladimir Chernykh also holds several additional certifications. Vladimir was recognized for Exceptional Talent in Digital Technology by Tech Nation in August 2022. Vladimir obtained the Google Cloud Platform Big Data and Machine Learning Fundamentals certification from Coursera in March 2019. In May 2016, they completed the Statistical Inference course from Coursera. Furthermore, they obtained the Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer certification from Google in March 2019.
