Jennifer Slobodian, PhD has a diverse and extensive work experience. Jennifer is currently working as the Director of Professional Learning at MindPrint Learning, LLC since January 2023. Prior to this, they were the Northeast Territory Manager at Learning Without Tears from May 2020 to December 2022.
From January 2019 to November 2019, Jennifer worked as the Director of Professional Development, World Languages & ELA at Carnegie Learning, where they managed a national team of teacher trainers and developed and implemented professional development workshops and sales presentations.
Before that, from September 2017 to December 2018, they served as the Director of Academic Solutions at EMC Publishing, LLC, where they grew and developed a team of World Languages and ELA teachers. Jennifer also worked as the Learning Solutions Team Manager and Learning Solutions Specialist during their time at EMC Publishing.
Jennifer has also worked as a freelance editor and translator, providing developmental and copy editing services, as well as translating academic and public health materials to and from Spanish.
Other experiences include serving as a substitute teacher at Freetown Lakeville Regional School District in 2014, and various roles at the University of South Carolina, including Senior Teaching Assistant/Instructor of Record/TA Mentor and Academic Enrichment Center Student Mentor.
Jennifer's work experience also includes serving as the Argo Editor-in-Chief at Westminster College in 2006.
Jennifer Slobodian, PhD, holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Comparative Literature (with a focus on Spanish, English, and Portuguese) from the University of South Carolina. Jennifer also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Women's and Gender Studies from the same institution. Prior to their PhD, Jennifer completed a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Comparative Literature, specializing in Spanish and English, also at the University of South Carolina. Jennifer's undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Westminster College (PA) with a focus on English Language and Literature/Letters, Secondary Education, and Spanish.
