Paul Wren has had a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over three decades. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Scientific Officer at Mindstate Design Labs since December 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Scientific Officer at ESCAPE Bio from March 2020 to December 2022.
Before their role at ESCAPE Bio, Paul held various positions at GSK for nine years starting in 2011. Paul served as the Senior Director in Neuroscience Discovery from March 2017 to March 2020, Senior Director in Neurosciences Clinical Development from June 2013 to March 2017, and Director in Neurodegenerative Diseases from June 2011 to June 2013.
From 2008 to 2011, Paul was the Head of Pharmacology in the New Opportunities Unit at Pfizer. Prior to Pfizer, they worked at GlaxoSmithKline as the Manager of Disease Area Leader from December 2002 to October 2008. Before that, they served as a Senior Scientist at Organon from 2000 to 2002.
Paul's early career involved working as a Scientific Assistant at Sandoz Institute for Medical Research from July 1994 to October 1996. Paul then worked as a Laboratory Technician at Wellcome Research Laboratories from September 1990 to April 1993.
Paul Wren pursued their education in the field of Pharmacology (Neuroscience) from 1996 to 1999. During this period, they attended The University of Edinburgh and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree. Prior to that, Paul Wren completed their Bachelor's Degree in Animal Physiology from Queen Mary University of London from 1991 to 1994.
