Sebastián Solans Gallardo

Sebastián Solans Gallardo is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer currently employed at Minera Candelaria since November 2023. Previously, Sebastián spent nearly a decade at Minera Meridian El Peñón, where roles included Lead Geomechanical Engineer, responsible for maintaining the local and global stability of the mine and ensuring adherence to the monthly Geomechanical plan, as well as Geomechanical Engineer, focusing on inspections and recommendations for bank exploitation and front reinforcement. Sebastián's earlier experience at Minera Meridian El Peñón includes a role as a thesis student in drilling and blasting, developing a vibration model for predicting rock damage, and a professional internship in planning and engineering, where mine design and dilution control were emphasized using Vulcan Maptek software. Sebastián holds a degree in Civil Mining Engineering from Universidad de Atacama and a diploma in Geomechanics and Geotechnics for Mining Designs from Universidad de Talca.
