Jessica Metzler

Jessica Metzler has an extensive work experience. Jessica began their career in 2001 as an Editorial Intern at Creative Loafing Charlotte, where they researched and wrote a weekly Blotter column and provided editorial assistance and background reporting. In 2002, they were an Instructor and Researcher at Florida State University, where they completed a two-year independent research project and designed, planned, taught, and assessed undergraduate writing courses. In 2004, they were an Instructor and Researcher at Cornell University, where they conducted a long-term, independent research project resulting in a completed dissertation and designed, planned, taught, and assessed undergraduate courses on writing, literature, and film. Jessica was also a Volunteer/Mentor at Big Brothers Big Sisters. In 2008, they were a Volunteer Teacher at the Cascadilla School through the Cornell Graduate Student School Outreach Program (GRASSHOPR). In 2011, they were a Research Scholar at Humboldt University of Berlin. From 2013 to 2015, they were a Lecturer at the University of Nebraska, where they designed, planned, taught, and assessed undergraduate writing and literature courses to a diverse student population. During this time, they were also an Associate Director of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Sheridan Center for Teaching and Learning at Brown University. In 2022, they will become an Academic Program Manager at Minerva Project.

Jessica Metzler has a diverse educational background. Jessica holds a MA and PhD in English from Cornell University, a MA in English from Florida State University, a BA in English from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Certificate in Painting Studies from the Rhode Island School of Design.
