Ohad Carny has a diverse work experience, starting in 2004 as a teaching assistant at Tel Aviv University. Ohad later became the Chairman of the Junior Academic Staff Association, where they represented over 3,500 members and managed the organization. In 2008, Ohad worked as a management consultant at Shaldor until 2011. From 2009 to 2022, they served as a board member at The Social-Economic Academy. Starting in 2012, Ohad joined the Ministry of Environmental Protection, initially as the Senior Director of Business Sustainability until 2015. Ohad then became the Head of the Regulatory Policy Domain, where they assessed and executed regulatory reforms. In 2021, Ohad was promoted to the role of Head of Policy and Strategy Department, and in 2023, they became the Acting Head of the Waste Treatment Department. Throughout their career, Ohad has managed large budgets and led professional teams.
Ohad Carny has a diverse educational background. Ohad pursued a BSc in Chemistry and Biology from Tel Aviv University, graduating in 2003. In 2004, they continued their studies at the same university and obtained a PhD in Biotechnology and Molecular Microbiology, which they completed in 2008. During this time, they also participated in a student exchange program at Venice International University in 2003, focusing on humanities.
In 2006, they pursued an MBA in Finance and Strategy from Tel Aviv University, completing it in 2008. In addition to their MBA, Ohad also engaged in a Global Consulting Practicum at The Wharton School in 2007-2008, specializing in Management Consulting.
To further enhance their knowledge in environmental policy, Ohad received a Mimshak Fellowship in Environmental Policy from the Israeli Society of Ecology and Environmental Science from 2011 to 2012.
