Alvaro Sebastian

Alvaro Sebastian has a diverse work experience spanning over 14 years. Alvaro is currently working as a bioinformatics consultant at Sixth Researcher since May 2020. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Bioinformatics at AgenTus Therapeutics, a company focused on developing cell therapies for cancer patients, starting from March 2018. Before joining AgenTus Therapeutics, Alvaro worked as a bioinformatician at Agenus, an innovative company researching the use of the immune system to fight against cancer, from November 2017 to February 2018. Alvaro also worked as a bioinformatician at Sixth Researcher, providing support with data analysis in research laboratories, from July 2017 to November 2017.

Alvaro Sebastian's earlier work experience includes being a bioinformatician at Adam Mickiewicz University, where they conducted research on the variability in transcripts of genetic genes in bank vole, from February 2014 to June 2017. Alvaro also had an internship at the Laboratory of Bioinformatics at Adam Mickiewicz University from February 2013 to July 2013.

In addition, Alvaro worked as a bioinformatician for the Spanish National Research Council at the Computational Biology Laboratory of EEAD-CSIC from September 2009 to December 2012. Before that, they founded Idibay Consulting, specializing in web design and development, from April 2009 to December 2010. Alvaro also served as a university teacher at the University of Zaragoza from 2008 to 2009 and received a scholarship of research training at the university from 2006 to 2009. Prior to that, they completed their master's project at Crystax Pharmaceuticals/Oryzon Genomics in 2006.

Throughout their career, Alvaro Sebastian has gained extensive experience in bioinformatics, working in various research and pharmaceutical companies, and contributing to the advancement of cancer therapies and genetic research.

Alvaro Sebastian's education history begins in 1999, where they attended the Universidad de Zaragoza and earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Chemistry. During the same period, they also pursued a second MSc degree in Biochemistry at the same institution, which they completed in 2005.

In 2006, Alvaro Sebastian furthered their education at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where they engaged in the field of bioinformatics and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in 2007.

Continuing their academic journey, Alvaro Sebastian returned to the Universidad de Zaragoza in 2006 to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Alvaro successfully completed their doctorate in 2010.

Additionally, in 2008 to 2009, Alvaro Sebastian attended the Universidad de Zaragoza again and obtained a Diploma in University Teaching.
