Matthew Kaproth

Matthew Kaproth is an experienced academic with a focus on botany, ecology, and environmental science. Currently serving as Associate Professor and Herbarium Director at Minnesota State University, Mankato since August 2016, Matthew teaches courses on Flora of Minnesota and Ecology/Evolution/Biodiversity. Previous roles include Lecturer at Saint Catherine University, where Matthew instructed an environmental science and justice course, and Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Minnesota, where research focused on drought tolerance in Quercus species. Matthew's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Botany from the University of Vermont, and earlier degrees in Biology and Earth Science from West Virginia University and SUNY Brockport, respectively.
