Bri Bauer

VP Communications and Engagement at Minnesota Timberwolves

Bri Bauer enters her second season as Vice President of Communications and Engagement where she oversees the Communications and Broadcast departments with a focus on storytelling and elevating the local and national profile for the Timberwolves, Lynx and T-Wolves Gaming.b

In her role, Bauer oversees strategy for her departments to effectively align the organization and relay its message and vision to the public. During her time at the Wolves and Lynx, Bauer has increased national and local exposure, implemented new broadcast platforms including Wolves+ on Fox Sports North, and helped modernize the team’s flagship radio partner initiatives. From ESPN and CNBC, to Star Tribune and WCCO-AM, Bauer ensures the organization, its campaigns, and personnel are covered to the highest standard. Bauer and team led the charge to elevate organizational personnel and department recognition through a record-year of industry awards for the Timberwolves and Lynx . Aside from organizational awards, her team was awarded a 2019 CLIO Award pertaining to the Prince City Edition platform, as well as a 2020 MarCom Platinum Award for crisis communication work relating to COVID-19.

Bauer started with the organization in 2018 as Director of Corporate Communications. In that position, she handled communications strategy around corporate partnerships, LPE, business initiatives and social responsibility activations.

Bauer has more than 14 years of experience leading public relations for industry-leading brands including DQ and Caribou Coffee. In these roles she led communications strategy for her team and various PR agencies. She negotiated and facilitated sports partnerships across all professional sport leagues, and secured endorsements with various athletes. In addition to using the impact of sports for storytelling, she also handled publicity around brand partnerships with Marvel and Universal Pictures.

A native of Apple Valley, Minn., Bauer graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities with degrees in Communication Studies and English. Bauer volunteers her time with Dress for Success, a non-profit which empowers women to achieve economic independence, and Girls Opportunity Alliance.

Bauer, her husband Joe, and sons JJ (10), Nolan (8) and Anders (4), reside in Edina, Minn.
