Simon Lancaster has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Simon is currently serving as the General Partner at Omni Venture Labs, where they invest in DeepTech founders and provides support in areas such as engineering strategy, venture strategy, and business development strategy. Simon is also the Head of Engineering & Strategy at Carbon Mobile, a company focused on driving innovation in composites and enabling 5G connectivity on carbon fiber devices.

Additionally, Simon is involved in various mentorship and advisory roles. Simon serves as a VC Fellow at Coolwater, where they support emerging VC managers. Simon is a mentor and judge for the Extreme Tech Challenge, an organization dedicated to helping startups create positive impact. Simon is also a member of the Customer Advisory Board at Fictiv, a company specializing in on-demand manufacturing, and an investor and board director at Miravel.

Earlier in their career, Simon held key positions at ARRIS, where they played a crucial role in building the applications engineering and business development organizations. Simon also worked at Apple, where they led advanced materials and prototyping efforts, as well as developed new manufacturing processes for various Apple products. Simon began their career at Google and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, where they gained valuable experience in mechanical engineering and stamping engineering, respectively.

Simon Lancaster began their education journey in 2003 at the University of Waterloo, where they pursued a BASc (Honours) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Simon successfully completed their studies at the university in 2008.

After a gap in their education, Simon enrolled in a course called "Fundamentals of Manufacturing Processes" at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2017. This course, offered through edX, provided him with a deeper understanding of manufacturing processes. Simon completed this course in 2018.

In the same year, Simon joined the Quantic School of Business and Technology to pursue an Executive MBA with a focus on Innovation & Strategic Leadership. Simon successfully completed the program in 2019, further enhancing their business acumen.

While gaining academic qualifications, Simon also obtained several certifications. In 2013, they earned the PADI Master Scuba Diver certification through the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. In 2018, they achieved a Purple Belt certification from the ATA American Taekwondo Association, demonstrating their dedication and skill in practicing this martial art.

As a continuous learner, Simon also pursued professional development courses. In 2020, they completed the "Design Thinking: Venture Design" course offered by LinkedIn. In 2021, they acquired the "Reid Hoffman and Chris Yeh on Blitzscaling" certification, also offered through LinkedIn.
