Laurel Ruma

Laurel Ruma is a seasoned professional in content strategy and management, currently serving as the Global Director of Custom Content and host of the Business Lab podcast at MIT Technology Review since October 2019. In this role, Laurel oversees the production of sponsored content projects and manages the custom content team. Prior to this, Laurel held various leadership positions at O'Reilly Media from 2005 to 2019, including Director of Curation and Custom Content Services and Content Director, where responsibilities involved setting content strategies, project management, and developing educational content across multiple formats. Laurel's earlier career includes editorial roles at several research and publishing organizations, with expertise in technology trends and open government initiatives.
