Brent D. Ryan is a distinguished academic and administrator with extensive experience in urban design and public policy. Currently serving as a Professor of Urban Design and Public Policy and Vice Provost at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology since July 2009, Brent D. Ryan oversees campus space management, long-range planning, and co-chairs the Committee for Renovation and Space Planning. Prior roles include Associate Professor and Head of the City Design and Development Group at MIT and Assistant Professor at Harvard University. Brent D. Ryan has previously held significant positions at the City Design Center and at the University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as serving as a City Planner and Urban Designer for the City of New York. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Urban Design and Planning from MIT and degrees in Biology from Yale and Architecture from Columbia.
