August Meng

August Meng has a diverse work experience in the field of chemical engineering. August is currently working as a Process Engineering Manager at Mitra Chem since September 2022. Prior to that, they served as an Advanced Lithium and Recycling Manager at Albemarle Corporation from November 2021 to February 2022. August also worked as a Principal Engineer at the American Battery Technology Company from April 2020 to October 2021.

Before joining the American Battery Technology Company, August had a significant tenure at Tesla. August held the positions of Staff Chemical Engineer from December 2018 to April 2020 and Sr Chemical Engineer from May 2016 to December 2018.

August's professional journey began as a Research Chemical Engineer at Southern Research, where they worked from August 2013 to May 2016. Prior to that, they served as a Research Assistant at North Carolina State University from August 2009 to December 2013.

During their academic years, August gained valuable experience as a Research Intern at RTI International in 2012, a Research Assistant at Nanjing Forestry University from September 2006 to June 2009, and a Research Intern at Asia Pulp & Paper in July 2008. August also gained exposure to research and development as an intern at Stora Enso in June to August 2005.

August Meng completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Chemical Engineering from Nanjing Forestry University from 2002 to 2006. August then pursued a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) with a field of study in Coating Technology at the same university from 2006 to 2009. Finally, August obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Forest Biomaterials from North Carolina State University, where they studied from 2009 to 2013.
