Senior/Chief Construction Inspector at M&J Engineering

Rafael Ramirez is an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with a diverse range of experience in construction management and field engineering. Rafael is currently working as a Senior/Chief Construction Inspector at M&J Engineering, P.C., where they are overseeing the quality control of a $460 million project to improve access between the Hunts Point Peninsula and Sheridan Boulevard in Bronx, NY. Prior to this, Rafael worked at WSP USA as a Construction Field Engineer, where they were involved in the Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project and the Central Park Tower, the tallest residential building in the world. Rafael also worked as a Civil Engineer at Special Testing & Consulting, where they conducted various inspections and assisted the Principal Engineer. Furthermore, Rafael gained experience as a Construction Manager/Field Coordinator at Constructora ICON in the Dominican Republic, where they played a key role in government and private projects involving roadway improvements. Rafael Ramirez, EIT, obtained their Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in 2010. Rafael also holds numerous certifications, including Traffic Control Technician (TCT) from the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) in 2023, OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety and Health from OSHAcademy Safety and Health Training in 2020, Adhesive Anchors Certified Installer ACI-318 Equivalent from Hilti Group in 2020, and American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Construction Special Inspector from the American Concrete Institute in 2020. Rafael has also received certifications such as Amtrak Contractor Orientation Safety from Amtrak in 2019, American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Testing Technician in 2019, and American Concrete Institute (ACI) Aggregate Testing Technician Level 1 in 2018. In 2017, they obtained certifications including American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Strength Testing Technician, International Code Council (ICC) Structural Masonry Special Inspector, American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete laboratory Testing Technician, and NYC DOB 4hr supported Scaffold user.
