Yusuf Poonawala

Yusuf Poonawala has over 30 years of work experience in the engineering field. Yusuf is currently working as the Senior Vice President of Operations & Business Development at M&J Engineering, P.C. since August 2019. Prior to this, Yusuf held various roles at ATANE, including Principal Officer/Senior Vice President, Senior Vice President, Vice President, Assistant Vice President, Senior Associate, Associate, Project Manager, Structural Engineer, and Junior Structural Engineer. During their time at ATANE, they contributed to successful client pursuits and served as Principal-in-Charge and Technical Advisor on numerous projects. Yusuf also oversaw engineering and technical operations at ATANE's India headquarters. Before joining ATANE, Yusuf worked as a Geotechnical Engineer at Utah State University, where they were involved in the design and analysis of retaining wall structures. Yusuf conducted soil laboratory tests and pullout tests for these projects. Prior to that, they worked as a Structural Engineer at Ramesh Builders, where they were responsible for CPM scheduling and record-keeping for construction projects and worked on a computer analysis design project for hinged truss structures.

Yusuf Poonawala completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Civil Engineering from COEP Technological University from 1986 to 1990. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Civil Engineering from Utah State University between 1991 and 1993. Additionally, Yusuf Poonawala has obtained certifications as a Professional Engineer (PE) in multiple states including Connecticut, Florida, Maine, New Jersey, Texas, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Maryland, Virginia, and New York, although the specific dates of these certifications are not provided.
