Dr. Bettina Balk

Dr. Bettina Balk has extensive experience in the fields of cytogenetics and molecular medicine. Currently serving as the Head of the FISH Laboratory and Head of Cytogenetics at MLL Münchner Leukämielabor since June 2014, Dr. Balk also holds a management board position and has contributed significantly to chromosomal analysis. Prior roles include a scientific researcher in cytogenetics and a doctoral researcher at the DKFZ-ZMBH Alliance of Heidelberg University, where Dr. Balk focused on telomere maintenance. Additional experience includes internships at the MRC Centre for Drug Safety Science and Geneart AG, addressing topics such as drug toxicity and plasmid DNA quality assurance. Dr. Balk obtained a PhD in Cancer Research and Genetics from Heidelberg University and a Diplom in Molecular Medicine from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg.
