Richard Retanubun has had a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Richard started their career at Spectracom as a Computer Engineer, where they worked on UI development and learned professionalism from mentors. Richard then joined Motorola as a Senior Software Engineer, focusing on developing code for Location Based Services (LBS) on the Motorola Q smartphone.
After that, Richard joined SIEMENS-RUGGEDCOM, where they took on multiple roles including Embedded Software Engineer, Software Team Lead, Software Engineering Team Manager, and Project Manager. In these roles, they were involved in various aspects of platform development, coordination with stakeholders, team management, and facilitating team dynamics.
Richard also worked at Muse® by Interaxon Inc. as an Embedded Firmware Developer, where they contributed to the launch of their flagship hardware, Muse-S. Richard developed an HMAC authentication framework for counterfeit protection, optimized the battery charger, and even hacked a solution to stream brain data.
Most recently, Richard joined JDRF Electromag Engineering Inc. as a Senior Embedded System Developer, before moving on to their current role as the Lead Embedded IoT Developer at MMB Networks.
Throughout their career, Richard has gained experience in embedded systems development, team management, project coordination, and technical leadership.
Richard Retanubun received their Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology from 2001 to 2003. Prior to that, they pursued their Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the same institution from 1997 to 2001. In 2018, Richard obtained a certification as a Certified ScrumMaster from the Scrum Alliance.
