Lien Dang has over 12 years of professional experience in the accounting and finance industry. Starting in 2008, they began their career as an Assistant Editor for Josh Tickell Productions and a Comedy Development Intern for Disney ABC Television Group. In 2010, they were a Digital Assistant for Stand Up To Cancer and in 2012 they were a Board of Directors Intern for Girls on the Run of Los Angeles County. In 2011, they were a Program & Community Relations Manager for Chrysalis.
In 2013, they joined Deloitte as an Audit Senior/Accountant, specializing in the testing of Financial Reporting, Accounting & Close, Revenues (ASC 600), Property & Equipment (ASC 360), Asset Retirement Obligations (ASC 410), Income Tax (ASC 740), and government-regulated compliance audits. During their time at Deloitte, they developed an innovative redesign of the revenue testing approach by using new proprietary data analytics software and leveraging technology, mathematical analysis, and risk management.
In 2017, they joined Gatto, Pope & Walwick, LLP as a Tax Accountant, preparing individual, estate, trust, partnership and S-Corp tax returns (Forms 1040, 706, 1041, 1065, and 1120S, respectively), including bookkeeping, research, financial review, and tax planning. In 2020, they were a Revenue Recognition Accountant (Contract) for Viasat Inc., reviewing sales agreements and documenting technical memos for revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
Currently, they are an Accounting Manager for All Turtles and Controller for mmhmm. In their role, they oversee the accounting function for AI tech start-up incubator and subscription software development company (All Turtles & mmhmm). Lien also explores improvements for increased accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability for cost-effective sustainability. Additionally, they support the VP of Finance in budgeting, planning, analytics, and exploring opportunities for future business growth, domestically and internationally.
Lien Dang has an extensive educational background. Lien earned a B.S. in Business Administration from USC Marshall School of Business from 2007 to 2010. From 2011 to 2013, they obtained a Certificate in Accounting from UCLA Extension. Additionally, they earned a B.A. in Critical Studies of Film from the University of Southern California from 2005 to 2010. In 2020, they obtained a Coursera Excel Skills for Business Specialization and an Alteryx Designer Core Certification. Lien also holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license from the California Board of Accountancy.
