Sahana Prasanna has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Sahana began their career as an Intern at BEML LIMITED, where they gained exposure to the communication system for DMRC metro rail corridors. Sahana then continued their education and enrolled as an Undergraduate Student at Visvesvaraya Technological University, where they designed and developed a patient monitoring system using hardware and FPGA technology.
Following their undergraduate studies, Sahana pursued further education and became a Master Student at Chalmers University of Technology. During this time, they focused on their studies and gained valuable knowledge in their field. Sahana then joined Raman Research Institute as a Research Intern, where they worked on implementing a Brain-Computer Interface using EEG signals to control the motion of a robot.
Next, Sahana undertook a Research Internship at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where they gained exposure to research activities in a prestigious scientific organization. Sahana's passion for research continued as they joined Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna as a PhD Student. Here, they focused on projects related to cancer nodule localization, tactile and ultrasound data, and telepresence experiments with haptic feedback.
During their time at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Sahana was also a Research Fellow, contributing to the development of neuronal architectures on FPGA for neuromorphic encoding. Following their academic pursuits, Sahana gained industry experience as a Project Intern at National Instruments, where they developed VIs for a LabVIEW project involving RTOS control.
Most recently, Sahana worked at MMI S.p.A. as a Software Test Engineer, responsible for testing and ensuring the quality of software products. Sahana then transitioned into the role of a Software Engineer at the same company, where they are currently utilizing their technical skills and knowledge to develop software solutions.
Overall, Sahana Prasanna's work experience showcases their dedication to both research and industry, with a focus on software engineering, neuroscience, and biomedical technologies.
Sahana Prasanna's education history begins in 2008 when they attended Kendriya Vidyalaya for their high school education. During the same period from 2008 to 2012, they also pursued a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University. Following this, from 2013 to 2015, Sahana enrolled in Chalmers University of Technology and obtained a Master's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering. Their academic journey continued at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna from 2016 to 2020, where they achieved a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in BioRobotics.
