Ma Xiong has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple organizations and roles. They currently hold the position of Director of Data Strategy & Analytics at MN Community Measurement since June 2022. Prior to that, from March 2021 to June 2022, Ma Xiong worked as an Evaluation and Research Team Supervisor at the Minnesota Department of Human Services. In this role, they also served as a Quality of Care Analyst from March 2017 to March 2021, overseeing the evaluation component of the Certified Community Behavior Health Clinics (CCBHC) federal demonstration.
Before their tenure at the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Ma Xiong worked at MN Community Measurement as a Project Specialist/Data Analyst from July 2015 to March 2017. They managed the documentation, processes, and validation of health plan claims data, and produced various reports related to healthcare quality. Prior to this role, from July 2012 to July 2015, Ma Xiong worked as a Project Coordinator at the same organization.
During their time at Mayo Clinic from May 2011 to August 2011, Ma Xiong served as a Research Coordinator Assistant in the Division of Epidemiology. They gained experience in clinical research methodologies, conducted analysis, and updated vital information in the lung cancer database.
Ma Xiong also has experience as a Health Insurance Biller at Twin Cities Home Health Services LLC from July 2010 to May 2011. Additionally, they worked as a Research Associate at Hennepin County Medical Center from June 2010 to January 2011, where they collected data for various research studies and interacted with patients in the Emergency Department.
Their career began as a Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota in the Department of Ecology, Evolution & Behavior. From December 2007 to May 2010, they worked on studies related to endocrine disruptors and their impact on voles' behavior. This included preparing diet gels and conducting research alongside a graduate student. Prior to that, from December 2007 to August 2008, Ma Xiong worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the same institution.
Ma Xiong earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry from the University of Minnesota in 2010. After completing the undergraduate program, Ma Xiong pursued further education and obtained a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree in Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health between 2010 and 2012. After a break in schooling, Ma Xiong returned to earn a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree in Public Health from Walden University, completing the program between 2016 and 2018.
