Sophie Nyberg currently serves as the Research Programmes and Partnerships Manager at the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association since May 2022. Previously, Sophie held the position of Senior Scientist - Complex Cell Models at Medicines Discovery Catapult from April 2020 to June 2022, where complex cell models for neuroinflammation and human blood-brain barrier Organ-On-Chip models were developed. A Postdoctoral Research Associate at The University of Sheffield from April 2018 to April 2020, Sophie worked on exosome-shuttled miRNAs in ALS and collaborated with BenevolentAI on target engagement biomarkers. Sophie's academic journey includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Toronto focused on drug delivery and RNA sequencing, a PhD in Nanomedicine from University College London, and a BSc in Biomedical Science from The University of Sheffield. Sophie is currently pursuing an MBA at Durham University from October 2023 to September 2025.
