Maryam Imam

Maryam Imam has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of intellectual property and law. Their most recent position is as the Head of Intellectual Property at Mobeus since May 2022, where they provide legal support for IP protection globally and strategically develops patent and trademark portfolios. Prior to their current role, Maryam worked as a Counsel/Consultant for various technology companies and law firms from November 2018 to April 2022. In this position, they prepared and negotiated commercial contracts, developed and maintained global IP portfolios, and advised on privacy policies. Maryam also served as a Partner at Klintworth & Rozenblat IP LLP from February 2017 to March 2018, where they negotiated IP-related agreements and supported M&A and litigation activities. Maryam co-founded and served as the Managing Partner of Ipxlaw Group LLP from August 1998 to January 2017, where they drafted and prosecuted patents, provided non-infringement and validity opinions, and developed an IP portfolio that led to a $1B acquisition. Maryam's career also includes a role as In-House Counsel at Avalanche Technology, Inc. from August 2010 to October 2015, where they strategically built an IP portfolio and engaged with upper management on IP strategy. Prior to that, they worked as an Associate at Fox Rothschild LLP from August 1995 to August 1999, where they developed new clients, trained associates, and assisted in drafting appeal briefs. Maryam also served as In-House Counsel at Cirrus Logic, Inc. from 1993 to 1995, where they helped establish an in-house legal team and managed outside law firms for labor, IP, and litigation matters. Maryam began their career as an Engineer/Project Manager at Applied Signal Technology from 1988 to 1991, where they designed software and firmware for mobile devices and worked on government projects related to mobile signal interception and decoding. Maryam's early experience includes working as an Electrical Engineer at Singer, Kearfott Division from September 1984 to June 1986.

Maryam Imam holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University. Maryam further pursued their education and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology. In addition to their engineering background, Maryam also has legal qualifications. Maryam earned a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from the Lincoln Law School of San Jose. Maryam also obtained several certifications, including being admitted to the California State BAR in October 1993. Maryam is also certified by the United States District Court, Northern District of California, obtained in April 1994. Furthermore, they hold a certification from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) obtained in October 1993. Additionally, Maryam has gained proficiency in the French language through self-study on Duolingo.
