Sophia Janowitz has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in graphic design, illustration, and set design. Sophia currently serves as the Graphic and Brand Design Lead at Mobi Systems since November 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator under their own name since September 2011. Sophia also has experience at Bullhorn, where they held multiple positions including Associate Art Director, Senior Graphic Designer, Graphic Designer, Graphic Design Associate, and Graphic Design Intern from 2018 to 2021. In addition, they worked as a Designer at Open Source Medical Supplies from April 2020 to February 2021, and as a Graphic Design Apprentice at C-Album in 2015. Sophia served as the Studio Manager at Mark Ostow Photography from April 2012 to August 2014, and also worked as a Set, Prop & Model Maker at Giants Are Small, a live animation opera company, from February to December 2011. Sophia gained experience as a Set Design Intern at Sleep No More from January to April 2011. Sophia started their career as a Video Editor at Yale Instructional Technology Group from June to August 2010, and as an Artist's Assistant to Fine Arts Photographer JoAnn Verburg from June to August 2009.
Sophia Janowitz has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature from Yale University. From 2014 to 2016, they pursued a Master's degree in Graphic Design, specializing in Typography, at École Estienne. Additionally, they studied Illustration with Joo Chung at the School of Visual Arts, attended a Winter institute at the Shanghai Theatre Academy, and also completed courses in Typography with Bruce Ployer and User Experience Design with Chiranit Prateepasen at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
