Tiresh Chinthaka has a strong background in the telecommunications industry, with expertise in radio network planning and optimization. Tiresh started their career as an Intern at Hutch Sri Lanka in 2008. After completing their internship, they joined Mobitel (Pvt) Ltd in 2010 as an Engineer in BSS Planning, where they worked until 2011. Tiresh then transitioned to a role as an Engineer in Radio Network Optimization and Planning from 2012 to 2013. Tiresh's career progressed at Mobitel, and they later served as a Supervisory Engineer in Radio Network Planning & Optimization from 2014 to 2015. Tiresh was responsible for monitoring and maintaining KPIs, capacity planning, and handling special events. From 2016 to 2021, Tiresh worked as a Senior Engineer in Radio Network Planning & Optimization, focusing on monitoring and optimizing LTE-FDD, WCDMA, HSPA+, and GSM networks. Tiresh improved network KPIs and implemented capacity planning strategies. In 2021, they were promoted to Lead Engineer in Radio Network Planning and Optimization, where they facilitated the design, planning, and deployment of RF solutions, ensuring optimal coverage and quality in telecommunication networks. In 2023, Tiresh moved into the role of Principal Engineer, responsible for managing the end-to-end process of designing, planning, and implementing RAN solutions to enhance wireless network coverage, capacity, and quality of service. Throughout their career, they have worked with major vendors such as Nokia, Huawei, ZTE, and Ericsson, improving dropped calls, data speeds, and KPIs.
Tiresh Chinthaka holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Cardiff Metropolitan University, which they earned from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed their Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, from 2006 to 2010. In addition, they also obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the same university during the same time period. Tiresh received their primary and secondary education from Kumarathugu Munidas Vidyalaya. Furthermore, they have completed 35 hours of project management education through the PMP Project Management program.
