Ed Coca has extensive work experience in various technology-related roles. Ed most recently worked at Modern.tech as the Chief Technology Officer, a position they have held since March 2023. Prior to that, they held the same position at Showingly from January 2022 to April 2022.
Before their role at Showingly, Ed worked at Micron Technology where they held multiple roles. Ed was the Senior Firmware Development Manager from October 2016 to October 2020, leading teams in developing firmware for SSD client and data center products. Ed was also the Director of SSD Released Products from September 2011 to October 2016, responsible for product transitions and customer response activities.
Earlier in their career, Ed worked as a Product Manager at OtterBox and as a Core Team Lead/Program Manager at Hitachi GST. Ed also held various managerial positions at Seagate Technology, Seagate, and Maxtor Corporation, overseeing engineering, program management, and process development.
Ed's work experience extends back to 1990 when they started their career as a Lead Mechanical Engineer at Technistar Corporation. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated leadership in managing teams, driving product development, and ensuring successful market deployment.
From 1983 to 1986, Ed Coca attended Clemson University and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME). Following this, from 1987 to 1989, they attended the University of North Dakota, where they pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) with a focus on Robotics and Manufacturing. Prior to attending Clemson University, Ed briefly attended East Tennessee State University in 1982-1983, studying Engineering without obtaining a degree.
