Nick "Threads" Speranza, PhD has a strong background in engineering, starting as an Engineering Intern at Science Applications International Corporation in 2009. Nick "Threads" then progressed to roles such as Software Engineer I at the same company before moving to Northrop Grumman Corporation as an Embedded Software Engineer II in 2012. From there, they transitioned to Ball Aerospace, where they worked as an Avionics Systems Software Engineer and later as an Avionics Systems Project Engineer. Currently, they hold prominent positions at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) including Principal Electronic Systems Engineer, Deputy Chief Engineer, and Chief Engineer in the Lifecycle Acquisition Business Unit.
Nick "Threads" Speranza completed their Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering at Wright State University in 2010, followed by a Master of Science in Computer Engineering in 2013, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science and Engineering in 2021, all from the same institution. In addition to their academic degrees, they also obtained certifications from the Federal Aviation Administration, including an Instrument Rating in 2017, a Remote UAS Pilot certification in 2016, and a Commercial Pilot Certificate in 2022.
