Denesh Chitkara

Denesh Chitkara, M.D. serves as the Vice President and Head of Clinical Development for Rare Disease at Moderna since September 2024. Prior to this role, Denesh held the position of Vice President and Head of Global Clinical Development in Immunology at EMD Serono, Inc. from April 2022 to September 2024. Denesh's experience at Bristol Myers Squibb from November 2019 to April 2022 included serving as Executive Director and Clinical Development Team Lead for gastrointestinal and immunological therapies. Earlier positions included Executive Director of Clinical Research at Celgene focusing on Immunology and Inflammation, Director of Clinical Research at Merck, and academic roles at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Boston Children's Hospital. Denesh Chitkara completed an MD at The Ohio State University College of Medicine between 1992 and 1996.
