Yujie Xia

Yujie Xia is a highly experienced professional in lipid nanoparticle process development, currently serving as a Senior Scientist/Senior Engineer II at Moderna since October 2020, focusing on high-throughput formulation processes and statistical process control across various therapeutic areas. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Scientist at Brammer Bio, where Yujie led technology transfers for gene therapy processes and managed manufacturing support, as well as a Senior Staff Scientist at Ashland, contributing to pharmaceutical and personal care product development. Yujie's foundational expertise was developed through a diverse career at Celanese as an R&D Rotational Scientist and a Research Assistant at the University of Illinois, where groundbreaking work on drug and gene delivery systems was conducted. Yujie holds a Ph.D. and a Master's in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Master's in Biochemical Engineering from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering and Technology from Tsinghua University.
