Jim Poss

Jim Poss has been in the tech industry since 2003, when they founded BigBelly Solar. Jim was recognized by Time, Newsweek, Business Week, Discovery Channel and many more as a leading innovator in the environmental field and IoT (Internet of Things). In 2014, they co-founded Modifi, Inc., which provides logistics software to help clients become safer, more cost-effective and cleaner environmentally. In 2019, they co-founded Insurate, Inc. and in 2021 they founded Possibleventures.com, a hands-on consultancy specializing in early-stage tech startups, as well as taking on the role of Director of Venture Creation at Colorado State University Research Foundation (CSURF).

Jim Poss obtained a BA in Environmental Science and Policy and Geology Majors from Duke University between 1992 and 1996. Jim then went on to obtain an MBA in Business / Entrepreneurship from Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business between 2001 and 2003. Jim has also been an Adjunct Professor at Pinchot University for 13 years.
