Praveen Nedumpully, PhD has worked in various roles since 2007. In 2007, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at Aalto University School of Science and Technology, where they conducted research in the field of computational biophysics. Responsibilities included literature survey, carrying out research projects, running simulations on supercomputers, analyzing and visualizing data, interpretation of data and publishing the results in peer reviewed international journals. In 2013, they became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Clemson University, where they conducted research in the fields of computational biophysics and computer aided drug discovery. Responsibilities included literature survey, carrying out research projects, running simulations on supercomputer systems, analyzing and visualizing data, interpretation of data and publishing the results in peer reviewed international journals. In 2016, they became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The University of Texas at Austin. Finally, in 2018, they became Director of Data Science and Lead Data Scientist at Modjoul, where they developed machine learning models to recognize human daily activities and wrist movements. The models were based on sensor data collected using Modjoul SmartBelt or a smart glove. Various activities such as walking, sitting, standing, bending and driving were recognized by these models.
Praveen Nedumpully, PhD has a diverse educational background. Praveen holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Computational Physics from Aalto University, a Master of Science in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Calicut. Additionally, they have obtained certifications from Coursera in Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python), Python Data Structures, and Using Python to Access Web Data. Praveen also holds an AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
