Christoffer Holmgård has a wealth of experience in the fields of psychometrics, statistics, and game content. Christoffer began their professional career in 2004 as a student aid at the Royal Danish Defence College. In 2006, they became an independent consultant for Informantics, conducting psychometrics and statistics for large organizations in the public and private sector. In 2008, they became the owner of Duck and Cover Games ApS. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as a quantitative analyst at the Royal Danish Defence College, conducting data collection, management, analysis, and reporting, as well as research and investigation projects in collaboration with several universities. From 2011 to 2015, they were a PhD student at the IT University of Copenhagen, where their main dissertation was on modeling play styles in games from designer specifications and empirical data. Christoffer also conducted a study and produced a series of publications on modeling stress responses to virtual environments from physiological data. In 2011, they also became co-owner, managing director, and chair of the board of directors of Die Gute Fabrik. In 2015, they became a scientific advisor for enHone. From 2016 to 2018, they were a postdoctoral associate at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Since 2017, they have been the CEO and co-founder of modl.ai. In 2018, they also became an assistant professor at Northeastern University.
Christoffer Holmgård's education history includes a Bachelor from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen in Psychology from 2003 to 2006, an MSc from IT-Universitetet i København in Media Technology and Games - Design and Analysis from 2006 to 2008, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from IT-Universitetet i København in Artificial Intelligence and Procedural Content Generation from 2012 to 2015, and a Postdoc from New York University in Game Engineering from 2016 to 2017.
