Technical Support Application Scientist at Molecular Devices

Pershang Farshi, Ph.D. has a diverse and extensive work experience in various scientific and academic roles. They began their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Cologne Medical School, investigating heparin sulfate binding and gene therapy. They then pursued their Ph.D. at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, focusing on the role of Sonic Hedgehog protein and its molecular interactions.

Following their Ph.D., they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan, where they studied gene regulation and expression in nerve regeneration. They continued their research in nerve injuries and related conditions as a Postdoctoral Research & Manager at the Karmanos Cancer Institute.

Afterwards, Pershang joined Wayne State University School of Medicine, taking up the role of Research Scientist & Lab Manager. They successfully led research projects, managed a laboratory and a team of researchers, and contributed to protocol development. Subsequently, they became a Research Assistant Professor at The University of Texas at El Paso, specializing in prostate cancer studies and teaching pharmacogenetics and cancer pharmacology.

Pershang's next position was as a Technical Support Scientist at ProMab Biotechnologies, Inc. Here, they leveraged their entrepreneurial and business acumen to provide exceptional customer service and generate significant revenue in the fields of CAR-T immunotherapy and mRNA/LNP technologies.

Currently, Pershang is a Technical Support Application Scientist at Molecular Devices, utilizing their expertise in technical support and application to assist customers.

Throughout their career, Pershang has demonstrated leadership skills, project management capabilities, and the ability to build enduring commercial relationships. They have also acquired a diverse range of scientific skills and methodologies, including immuno-histochemistry, confocal microscopy, primary cell culture, and statistical data analysis.

Pershang Farshi, Ph.D. obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Münster in the years 2009 to 2011. Prior to this, they earned a Diploma of Science (equivalent to a Master's degree) in Genetics and Biochemistry from the University of Cologne in 2007. Additionally, Pershang completed a Master's degree Thesis in Plant Genetics at the Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research in Cologne, Germany. Furthermore, they pursued studies in Natural Sciences, specifically StudienKolleg & Sprache (College and German language), at The Philipp University of Marburg. In terms of certifications, Pershang obtained a certificate in Managing Your Career from LinkedIn in July 2018, as well as a certificate in Public Speaking Foundations from LinkedIn in 2012.
