Laura Jones has over a decade of work experience in various roles. Laura started their career as a Student Intern at Iogen Corporation in 2008. Laura then had another internship at the Deutshe Institute fur Ernahrungsforschung, where they assisted in research on the human salt taste receptor.
In 2010, Laura had two more internships, one at Health Canada and another at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Center, where they completed their undergraduate thesis on extracellular matrix signaling modification as a potential cancer treatment.
Laura continued their education at McGill University, where they served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for biochemistry courses and conducted research as a PHD Candidate in the Muller Lab at the Goodman Cancer Research Centre. Laura'sresearch focused on breast cancer, metastases, tumor and immune microenvironment, and signaling pathways. Laura managed their thesis project on the role of Stat3 in breast cancer and collaborated internationally. Laura also gained experience in data analysis and statistical analysis.
After completing their PHD in 2018, Laura joined MolecuLight as a Research Analyst, where they performed basic science research on fluorescence detection of bacterial loads and assisted in projects for the clinical trials department.
At MolecuLight, Laura advanced to the role of Lead Clinical Specialist, where they led a team to provide education and training to the sales team and customers. Laura worked closely with various departments to enhance product understanding and make improvements.
Currently, Laura serves as the Director of Clinical Education and Distributor Support at MolecuLight. Laura manages the company's clinical education portfolio and oversees a team of clinical specialists. Laura provides clinical, technical, and sales support to distributors globally and actively promotes educational material, including presenting scientific research at international conferences.
Prior to their roles at MolecuLight, Laura worked as a Research Associate at the Goodman Cancer Research Centre, McGill University. Laura independently managed a research project on cellular migration of breast cancer cells and developed various laboratory skills.
Throughout their work experience, Laura has demonstrated their expertise in scientific research, data analysis, project management, and educational support.
Laura Jones earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa in 2011. Laura then pursued further education at McGill University, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry from 2011 to 2018.
