Peter Ryan

Peter Ryan has a diverse work experience, starting as a Barrister at Law at the Victorian Bar from 1989 to 1998. Peter then served as a Senior Legal Counsel and Commercial Counsel at the Transport Accident Commission from 1998 to 2005. After that, they worked as a Relationship Partner at Mills Oakley Lawyers in 2007. In the same year, they joined the Victorian WorkCover Authority as a Senior Legal Counsel for a brief period. From 2007 to 2016, Peter held various roles at the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority, including General Manager Insurance Services and General Counsel. Additionally, they served as the Executive General Manager Claims and CEO Domestic Building Insurance. In 2016, they became a Special Counsel at Hall & Wilcox. In 2017, Peter joined Monash University as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the Department of Epidemiology and Preventative Medicine until 2020. Peter continued their affiliation with Monash University in 2023 as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine Nursing and Health Sciences. Peter concurrently served as Director Legal Services & Chief Legal Officer at Monash Health from 2018 to the present.

Peter Ryan attended St Kevin's College from 1973 to 1982, where they completed their HSC in Humanities. Peter then enrolled at the University of Melbourne from 1983 to 1987, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) and Bachelor of Law degree, specializing in Commerce/Law.
