Alvin Tan currently serves as Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth in Singapore, while also holding roles such as Patron of the Singapore FinTech Association and Chairman of the People's Association Community Development Fund. Since 2020, Alvin has been an elected Member of Parliament for Tanjong Pagar GRC and is a Deputy Chairman of the National Youth Council Singapore. Additional board membership with the Monetary Authority of Singapore commenced in 2021. Prior experience includes leadership positions at Facebook, where Alvin built and led the regional public policy team, and LinkedIn as Director and Head of Public Policy & Economics. Alvin's academic background includes a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Economics with First Class Honours from the University of Sydney.
